Safety Awards competition judges are field experts, from both private and state companies, with high achievements, who inspire with their passion and are admired for their integrity.

The selection process for the jury membership is balanced and the agreements signed express their commitment and confidentiality.

With almost 15 years career in Pirelli Group, Georgiana joined the Italian company as Legal and Foreign Affairs Manager for Pirelli & C. Eco Technology where she was promoted as General Director in 2012.

She joined Pirelli Tyres in 2017 and with a strong background in local legislation and compliance policies, now she is in charge of the Health & Safety, Environment and Emergency Situations Team of Pirelli Tyres Romania as Country HSE Manager.

Georgiana is leading the new role for the past years with a specific focus on organizational safety programs and a clear vision on safety projects for a continuous pursuit in detecting potential hazards and implementing precautionary measures.

NICOLETA NEDELCU
EXTERNAL AUDITOR, ROMANIAN SOCIETY FOR QUALITY ASSURANCE (SRAC)

With a rich experience of more than 15 years as an external auditor for ISO 9001, ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and other management systems applicable to industry, Nicoleta Nedelcu has been working for over 25 years as an engineer, site coordinator, project manager, consultant, lecturer and auditor in management systems.

Qualifications in occupational health and safety, emergency situations, civil protection, environmental protection allowed her to take a holistic view of the industry. Her professional training over the years recommends her for activities as a labour protection inspector, HSE coordinator, risk assessor, civil protection inspector. She has a Master’s degree in Occupational Safety and Health.

The experience gained has helped her to develop techniques and systems that have successfully prevented and solved possible incidents in various national and international organizations.
One favorite quote of Mrs. Nedelcu is Walt Disney’s: ”The most important element of our work is family. We hope to create an unbreakable bond within families. Family is the cornerstone of our entire business.”

An awarded consultant, author and trainer with a background in creative strategy, impacting brands and businesses alike, Tedi Migdalovici has served over the years as juror in various competitions – The Globes, IAB, White Square – while also successfully orchestrating local and regional events herself.

Throughout the past two decades, she has attended a consistent number of international events and award galas. Her expertise in selecting original, memorable, impactful ideas and solutions that have the power to challenge or change the category will bring charisma and a fresh perspective to the jury.

Alex Burada is Risk Manager for Ford Romania, responsible for the management of Safety, Fire and Security departments within the company.

His current expertise and experience has developed and increased based on the process of continuing professionalization while activating as a safety consultant, manager and construction site coordinator over the last 13 years, gaining significant experience in various industrial branches.

In recent years (2010 – 2018) he was actively engaged in Health & Safety specialised teams on a national and international level, having worked in a multinational company, as well as outside the Romanian boarders, in Germany and United Kingdom, all this giving him a global perspective and approach towards safety related matters.

Orlando Szasz entered the business world while still in college. He founded Renania alongside his brother and less than 7 years after its launch, Renania became the leader of the Romanian safety equipment market, a position maintained to this day.
The Szasz brothers’ business results were celebrated in Top 500 Forbes along the years.

After 17 successful years in his leading role, Orlando Szasz has decided to handover the CEO position to Florentina Taudor, in order to focus more on personal projects and the Business Angel initiatives.
He accepted to be one of the judges on the Romanian version of the Dragons’ Den TV show and consequently he invested in few Romanian entrepreneurial proposals.
Orlando Szasz graduated from the Faculty of Dentistry at UMF Targu-Mures, his natal town, and later on earned his PhD at the same University.
He is fluent in German, Italian, Hungarian and English. He enjoys contact sports and is passionate about Formula 1, horology and art.
He was also featured in the “Top 50 Romanian Successful Entrepreneurs” the “Top 100 most admired Romanian managers” by Business Magazine and „Forbes Romania 100 Greatest Living Business Minds”.

Silviu Popa graduated from the Faculty of Constructions in 1992. He has an experience of over 20 years in constructions, and over 14 years in health and safety domain.

In 2012 he joined the “KIRCHHOFF Automotive Romania” team as an HSE responsible. He implemented and maintained Environmental Systems, SSO and Energy Management Systems, as well as the Risk Management, for the two factories in Craiova and Pitesti,

From 2015 Silviu Popa works with many certification organizations (TUV SUD, DEKRA, etc.) as a lead auditor for Quality Standards (ISO 9001), Environment (ISO 14001), SSO (45001), Energy (50001).

Cu o experiență de 20 de ani în domeniul industrial, Mădălina coordonează implementarea programului de management în ceea ce privește sănătatea și securitatea și activitățile de profil în fabricile și locațiile Holcim România, pentru aproximativ 800 de angajați.
Anterior poziției din Holcim România, a deținut diferite funcții de manager de sănătate, siguranță și mediu în industria de petrol și gaze. Din aceste poziții a obținut performanțe semnificative în gestionarea politicilor de sănătate și siguranță într-un mediu exigent.Ea este absolventă a Facultății de Chimie din cadrul Universității București, licențiată în Biochimie, și deține o diplomă de masterat în Ecologie și Dezvoltare Sustenabilă.
Siguranța la locul de muncă reprezintă nu numai o prioritate, ci și o datorie. O datorie a fiecaruia dintre noi atât către colegi, dar mai ales către cei dragi, către familiile noastre. Nu cred că există un motiv mai puternic pentru care să ne dorim un loc de muncă sigur. Este salutara initiativa Safety Awards, prin care se construieste un forum dedicat schimbului de idei si recunoasterii performantei in sanatate si securitate in munca.

With a rich experience of more than 30 years in Occupational Health and Safety domain, Steluta Nisipeanu has a Ph.D. degree in Industrial Engineering domain and a master degree in Management of Occupational Health and Safety and Work Relations.


She attended, at the request of ILO expert in developing, the first standard ISO security management and health and ISO 45001/2016.


She is the author or co-author of 7 books, 7 patents and more than 60 research studies and publications in OH&S domain.

Popescu Sorin Martian is HSE and Loss Prevention manager at Pirelli Tyres Romania SRL since 2008 and he is responsible with the implementation of the Romanian legal requirements in force as well as internal standards for occupational safety, environmental protection and fire protection. He is a graduate of the Oil and Gas University of Ploiesti.
During the past ten years he has gained valuable experience in Health and Safety and Environment field by coordinating strategic planning, organization and execution of the HSE Management System including resource allocation, client relations, site audits, regulatory compliance, incident investigations, governmental representation, external committee involvement, budgeting, forecasting, subcontractor pre-qualifications and training. Raised safety standard significantly through multiple new initiatives which subsequently reduced incidents annually . Developed safety program, ensured proper utilization and carried out detailed audits of facility sites.
He has gained experience related to Integrated risk assessment,Industrial Hygiene, Ergonomics , Management System and Certification, Accidents and Incidents reporting and investigation and Training.
Has also been involved in a program developed by Pirelli Group in cooperation with DuPont, called “ Excellence in Safety “ !
Excellence in Safety Rational is a program launched worldwide to meet Pirelli needs with main reasons :
Harmonize and strengthen safety culture globally, ensure sustainability of results; to build a clear roadmap for global safety improvement, with standard set of activities, and the flexibility to adapt the approach to local needs and to adopt a consistent approach globally, to internally benchmark site safety performance.
Expected result is the creation of a culture of anticipation.
How can we improve the degree of implementation and adoption of health and safety programs and strategies in Romania?
Through effective and effective communication, and most importantly, the cultural change in occupational safety and health. We must understand that all incidents and accidents can be prevented. And what we need to do: have a health and safety management system in place to ensure proactivity.

Cristian also worked in the IT & software development industry, for business software providers, involving the most influential brands of the trade: IBM, Oracle, VMware or Microsoft.

DRAGOȘ OLTEANU
SENIOR ENGINEERING MANAGER CEE UPC ROMANIA

Dragos Olteanu is Senior Engineering Manager UPC CEE since January 2017. Previously, he joined UPC Romania On May 2012 as Power & HVAC Senior Infrastructure Manager.

He was involved in an international revolutionary sustainability and energy efficiency project management, for technical data centers with power consumption between 100 MWh and 300 MWh / year. The result of his work on innovative cooling systems, with major impact in decreasing of total power consumption of cooling systems in technical rooms lead to remarkable results.

UPC Romania is part of Liberty Global Group. UPC Romania implemented the first cooling system based on PCM – Phase Change Materials – technology in Alba Iulia Data Center, in 2017.

After the first 6 months, the total power consumption & carbon footprint decreased with 10 MWh. In the same data center, UPC installed a photovoltaic system at 9 kW maximum peak and after 6 months they produced around 5 MWh.

UPC Romania estimates that power consumption can be reduced with 25 MWh after one year – the equivalent of 35% – by using the mixed use of the two technologies – the PCM and the photovoltaic panels, respectively.

Before his career at UPC, Dragos was Network Deployment Manager at Telekom Romania and Equipment Implementation Manager at ZAPP Romania.

H&S RESPONSABILE, HOLCIM ROMANIA SA

With over 14 years of experience in the cement industry, Turcus Radu-Victor has been in charge, for the past five years, with all aspects related to Health and Safety (H&S) in Holcim Romania’s cement plant based in Aleșd.

Strongly believing that H&S is like mathematics – all measures must be implemented and maintained without compromise – and taking at heart the company values, Radu is involved in fostering the Health& Safety culture at all levels of the organization.

One of his best endeavors in respect to H&S was the development of a series of digital tools with the help of his team, which enable an effective H&S management. One example is the Safety Vision program, a software which represents a solution for integrating prevention and control measures, based on Risk Management.

Throughout his career, Radu applied his knowledge by taking part in internal and external audit teams created at LafargeHolcim Group level and also participated in numerous professional, technical and management courses. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Automation and Electroenergetics from the Oradea University, from which he graduated in 2002.

In Romania, Holcim, as a member of LafargeHolcim Group, supports and carries out specific activities related to implementation of sustainable Health and Safety management system, integrated in all business aspects.

EDITORIAL DIRECTOR, BIZ MAGAZINE

With a 12 year background in business journalism, Loredana Săndulescu is currently Editorial Director at Biz Magazine. She has interviewed hundreds of decision makers – entrepreneurs, CEO-s, top and middle managers from various industries in Romania and abroad.

Her main areas of interest are innovation, design, digital, advertising, public relations, media and marketing. Since 2012 she has initiated and coordinated a comprehensive research on Romanian PR industry, in partnership with Unlock Market Research.

She is also coordinator of several Biz editorial and research projects – Biz Digital Report, Romanian Marketing Managers Yearbook, Top 100 Romanian Brands, Top Social Brands and she has been actively involved in business conference planning: Zilele Biz, BestMarketing, Bucharest Social Media Summit, Biz PR Conference and so on.

In 2017, she launched BrightBusiness.ro, an editorial online project aiming to fill the need for an informed and analytical point of view on the fashion and beauty business in Romania.

For the last 10 years, Nicoleta Talpeş has been leading Media Image Factory, the only communication agency in Romania specialised in social development. Their projects (both client’s and owned) provided expertise in the fields of education (companies and schools, nationwide), culture (theatre and film) or ecology and green technology.

Her favorite initiative is CharityGift.ro, the first online charity online store in Romania, developed alongside one hundred volunteers, both local and foreigners. She is interested in the safety phenomenon from the social & business perspective, which will transform her in a valuable juror.

Having previously worked for the Ministry of Defense in Romania, he has gained a solid background in the SSM area and other related fields. An accredited trainer, he has a post graduate degree in Occupational Health and Safety and a bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering.

Since 2011, Ioana – Georgiana Nicolescu is co-ordinating the Focal Point activity in the OSH area as interface between the major OSH actors at national level and the European Agency of Bilbao, Spain.
Between 2006 – 2014, she co-ordinated the International Relations Department at the National Research and Development Institute on Occupational Safety – INCDPM, ”Alexandru Darabont”, Bucharest, Romania, where she is OSH project manager.
She has been keynote speaker in various OSH and environmental protection area events e.g. congresses, conferences, seminars, workshops. Is also a jurist and holds a M.Sc. in European Social Law.

TITI AUR
MANAGING PARTNER OF THE TITI AUR ACADEMY

Titi is also coordinator of the defensive driving simulators production activities – multiple patents holder for defensive driving simulators (car with dual control, rollover simulator, and frontal impact simulator). Titi is also a former rally driver (10 national championship titles, won 51 rallies) and coordinator of the book “Self Control – defensive driving techniques and sports”. Last, but not least, he is Project Leader in the construction project of Titi Aur Academy, in a total investment of approx. 9.3 million euros, partly financed with European funds for R&D and has graduated from the Cergy Pontoise driving school in France.
